Description
The purpose of this role is to provide strategic direction for our client’s use of IBM WebSphere Application Server technology, Microsoft IIS web servers and Web Identity Management solutions while ensuring smooth and efficient operations of those environments. Specific responsibilities would include architecting well-integrated and cost effective solutions for internal and external web sites.
General responsibilities would include installation, configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, scripting, tuning, and security tasks. Position works closely with the Business, Development, Project Management and Operational teams to ensure successful project deployments and continued performance improvements over the life of the applications.

Experience
• Minimum of 5 years, typically 7 years of experience administering WebSphere Portal Server and Web Content Management, IIS or IHS Web servers, WebSphere plug-ins installed on AIX, Linux and Windows operating systems; knowledge of workflow and security practices.
• 5 years of administration and integration of support technologies, including firewalls, encryption, browsers, monitoring, alerting, root-cause analysis, verification testing, load-stress testing, vulnerability management, ticket tracking and customer experience model.
• 5 years of experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
• Project planning and management skills, including scope of work, time estimation, and resource assignment.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to explain solutions/concepts/theories to varied business units. Skills/Certifications

• Provide on-site maintenance after normal working hours including on-call duties for 24x7 web applications

Qualifications

Responsibilities:


• Performs team leadership functions and mentor others.
• Document administration actions taken to implement, modify, or troubleshoot new or existing systems.
• Provide updates to Project Managers, Customers, Operations, and Management.
• Automate repetitive tasks concerning administrative, deployment, monitoring, corrective action and verification.
• Design web and application hosting infrastructures with highly available solutions.
• Create best practice methods to direct traffic to multiple hosts using WAS plugins and Context Switching.
• Determine life expectancy of systems; budget current and projected growth; and plan for capacity changes.
• Assumes primary responsibility for Web hosting systems, including disaster recovery environments.
• Recommend server operating systems, hardware, support software, and security standards.
 • Define and design the web infrastructure for multi-tiered environments while integrating different security zones.
• Design and implement an Intranet strategy for authorization of users to access controlled components.
• Possess and maintain substantial knowledge of third-party Web solutions to provide superior service.
• Coordinate enhancements and maintenance of Web systems with vendors, developers, and customers.
• Understand each web/application hosted; how it is used, and who is responsible for the different components that make up the web/application.
• Work with developers and monitoring staff to automatically determine the health of a web/application and set thresholds to trip alerts and automate action to recover from failures.
