System Administrator
 
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. You will participate in technical R&D to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and enabling staff.

You will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.

You will be accountable for the following systems: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Desktop as a Service (DaaS), Citrix, SalesForce, Exchange 365, SharePoint 365, Skype for Business Online, Office 365 and various internal other internal systems.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
  • Maintain system efficiency.
  • Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together.
  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users.
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades.
  • Maintain network and system security.
  • Analyze and isolate issues.
  • Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
  • Evaluate and modify system's performance.
  • Identify user needs.
  • Maintain integrity of the network and security.
  • Create and maintain documentation and procedures for the configuration of the network and systems.
  • Receive and track company inventory as it arrives and is deployed to users.
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, desk phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science desirable
  • Systems Administration/System Engineer certification with Microsoft desirable.
  • Experience with Apple desktops and Ubuntu Linux as a webserver is a plus.
  • Experience with PBX system concepts, preferably with Shoretel hardware, desirable.
  • Four to six years system administration experience mandatory
