Key Tasks & Responsibilities:-
  The essential duties and responsibilities include:
 
  • Supervise the development and implementation of motor control algorithms and the first run of the software in the E-Drive system on applicable testing environments (HIL, Emulator, Dyno). Provide technical guidance, leadership and mentoring to the engineering team
  • Develop and maintain SW Architecture of the application SW for power electronic inverters to control electric motors and steer the implementation in a model based SW environment
  • Responsibility to define, implement and conduct processes and procedures to continuously improve the model based development methods and monitor the execution
  • Manage customer requirements and design internal SW requirements that allow the implementation of the controls to meet customer expectation. Provide interfaces to internal and external customers and supporting departments
  • Estimate development effort and plan, budget and allocate necessary resources to meet program timing
  • Establish and maintain performance metrics to track status and continuous improvements. Continuously provide development status to management and customer, identify and report risks and propose mitigation actions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineering team
  • Own and drive a topic with minimum supervision and full autonomy
  • Requires the supervision of full-time employees and direction of external vendors. Responsibilities include adhering to the administration of company policies and procedures (in collaboration with Human Resources) by interviewing, recommending hiring, training requirements, planning and assigning tasks and responsibilities, evaluating team/individual performance, creating team/individual plans for technical and professional skills development, recommending rewards and disciplinary actions.
   
Skills & Attributes:-
  The ideal candidate would need the following skills and abilities:
  • Knowledge and applied experience with software development processes per ISO/IEC 15504 (Automotive SPICE), CMMI and ISO 26262, with focus on requirements management, requirements engineering and functional testing
  • Deep knowledge of electric motor control theories/algorithms and design of embedded controls software
  • Strong management, leadership and communication skills
  • Project management skills with tight time lines and multiple deliveries in parallel
  • Willingness for limited travel both domestically and internationally
  • German language is a plus
   
Education & Experience:-
  Education and Experience Preferred: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with model based development environments (Matlab, TargetLink), software testing and debugging toolchain. Knowledge of dSpace AutoSAR concepts, Vector toolchain and automotive development practices
  • Several years of experience in leading software development group to meet program cost, timing & technical requirements
  • Education in electric motor related engineering programs (focus on electric control theories and embedded software) or
    computer science engineering with additional focus on power electronics and embedded systems
  • Experience in working with suppliers and across various international development locations
  • Experience with E-Motor control testing experience on Dynos and in Vehicles a plus
