The Senior Advanced Quality Engineer is accountable for fulfilling the quality related deliverables in accordance with company procedures. In addition, this individual will fulfill and exceed customer specific requirements, related to quality, both in product and process.
 
Typical Duties:
CUSTOMER NEEDS
•             Plan, organize and drive the team to implement preventive actions in projects and Lessons Learned (LL) / Best Business Practice (BBP) to exceed customer and our cleints requirements. (Planning / Lessons Learned)
•             Communicate and negotiate with customer for Quality topics and synchronize (or align) with all xFT members (Non-Financials) (Customer Liaison)
•             Support the program launch for any quality concern latest for SOP + 90 calendar days (Hand-over to post launch)
•             Interface and fulfillment with customer quality items (Satisfaction)
•             Feed B2B customer <on-line> portal (Reporting)
 
PROCESSES
•             Coordinate and lead Quality relevant activities and workshop in the program according VPDS workflow (Coordination)
•             Ensure that Quality relevant documents are updated and maintained (Documentation)
•             Participate in mechanical, software and hardware activities / workshop (e.g. FMEA, Manufacturability, Drawing Review, BOM review, Software Delivery Status, etc.) to ensure the quality inputs (Information)
•             Responsible to manage the fix of quality concerns during program execution before SOP (Corrective Action)
•             Promote quality tools (Problem Solving Document, 8D, KT, etc.) inside the SDT (Quality mindset)
•             Regular reporting of concerns towards CBU and quality structure (Reporting)
•             Recommend VBOS improvement (Management System)
•             Stimulate LL mechanism to AQE team and realize BBP (Continuous Improvement)
•             Give training and guidance and professional support to AQE team (Mentoring)
 
SPE INTERFACE
•             Interface and ensure both way communication with SPE commodity (Coordination)
•             Collect and deliver a Supplier Readiness Summary Report with major critical development concerns (Reporting)
•             Escalate Supplier Readiness Concerns and support resolution of critical issues with the supplier (Escalation)
 
YEARS EXPERIENCE: 7+ years of quality engineering experience within automotive industry with 4+ years in quality related activities; experience with OEM and Supplier preferred.
 
DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED: Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
 
DESIRED COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE:
•             Experience in the electronics automotive industry
•             Trained in standards for Quality Management Systems (QMS): ISO TS 16949
•             Application of QMS tools and techniques: APQP, FMEA, SPC, DOE, 8D, Risk assessment, Process Audit and Minitab
•             Knowledge of PC software applications (Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet Browser)
•             ASQ/CQM/CQE and Six Sigma Black Belt Certification are a plus
•             Ability to interact/cooperate with people of different levels inside/outside of the company and to interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives.
•             Leadership skills to empower others to achieve results through motivation, recognition and performance feedback.
•             Customer interface skills to recognize, respond to customer expectations with a sense of urgency and even increase expectations
•             Ability to take actions, decisions and to generate ideas, products, processes in promised timely manner, involvement in designs or other work requiring creative thought
•             Ethical standards to take responsibility for decisions and results even when all elements are not under individual direct control
•             Highly organized working style to set goals in consistency with company objectives and to adapt plans to changing environment
•             Experience with identifying and removing health, safety, ergonomic and environmental health hazards in workplace
•             Ability to identify program risks in advance and to propose potential solutions
