RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
                                                                               
IT Management – Team Lead, Technical Strategy, Planning, Budgeting, and Communications (35%)
  • Perform all team leader functions:  coaching, team building, objective-setting, reviews.
  • Manage corporate IT assets for network environment.
  • Creates long-term strategic technical direction network platform projects and existing system maintenance.
  • Designs, engineers, recommends and plans technical projects to meet network reliability, tactical, performance, or controls needs.
  • Manages Level 4 support for the corporate, store, and eCommerce infrastructures
  • Represents the network team in Change Management and Technical Architecture Review activities.
  • Develops policy and corporate standards surrounding network usage and control
  • Mentors and assists Network Operations, Security, and Network Administration technical teams
  • Coordinates efforts between IS teams for new technology integration and new IS initiatives involving infrastructure.
  • Reports on capital project hours.
  • Manages the capital expenditure process for new infrastructure projects
 
Systems Integration - Platform architecture and security for Client's enterprise infrastructure (25%)
  • Architects, installs and maintains eCommerce/Web technologies configured to provide high-availability including: local loadbalancers, global loadbalancers, cloud compute clusters, switching, BGP routing and SAN replication
  • Documents network architecture proposals and presents business justifications to senior management.
  • Coordinates cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and provides technical hardware, security or communications deliverables.
  • Designs and maintains networks, and security devices, and control devices supporting secure communications to all domestic stores
  • Designs and maintains secure connectivity to payment processing vendors and eCommerce portals
  • Manages and Implements security technologies: Firewalls, Intrusion Protection Systems, & DDoS mitigation
  • Manage multiple monitoring systems to ensure system health, storage, and network bandwidth: Solarwinds, Ciscoworks, VSphere, SAN Manager, Netflow collectors, and network sniffers.
  • Develops and owns the base platform builds for all virtual server deployments: AIX, Linux & Windows Servers
  • Architects and maintains Private and Public cloud infrastructures for corporate and eCommerce environments, ensuring failover capabilities, capacity, and uptime goals of the business are met.
 
Project Management – Technology Consultation, Contract negotiation, Vendor relations, Systems Integration and SLA management (20%)
  • Acts as a project entry-point for initiatives focused on security, e-commerce, connectivity, and internal application hosting.
  • Business Continuity Planning:  Business Impact Analysis, Disaster Recovery Testing.
  • Telecommunications:  PBX, VoIP Systems, Wireless, corporate connectivity
  • Contact Services:  Systems hardware providers, telecommunications providers, support contracts, outsourcing contracts
  • Works with security staff to design and provide audit documentation for continued compliance to governmental and industry mandates: PCI, HiPPA, SOX
 
 
Documentation and support (20%)
  • Ensures the evolving technical infrastructure meets company requirements, new technologies are reviewed tested and implemented, standards and security requirements are met, and interoperability needs are addressed.
  • Manages priority escalations for system outages and provides/contributes to Root Cause Analysis for these events.
  • Designs processes, procedures, corporate standards and best practice documentation for systems engineers and administrators to maintain consistency and system uptime
 
               
QUALIFICATIONS                                         
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking, related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of networking technologies, design principles, and the practical application of routers, switches, virtualization, storage, storage networking virtualization/zoning, and load-balancers.
  • Excellent communications and customer service skills with proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to explain complex systems to senior management, customers, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, designing technical solutions, and presenting proposed solutions to customers.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in several of the following (certification a plus):
-Cisco Routing/Switching
-Checkpoint Firewalls (or equivalent)
-F5 LTM/GTM
-Cisco UCS & Nexus
-BlueCoat Proxy (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of network security solutions such as firewalls, VPNs, Intrusion detection/prevention, and web application firewalls.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience generating technical documents, diagrams, solutions specifications, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • 2+years team management experience.
  • 5+ years network system support experience.
  • 2+ years vendor management experience.
  • Advanced Certification (MCSE, CCNA) or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent presentation / writing / reporting skills.
  • Ability to travel 5%.
