Design Release Engineer – Product Development Team
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is for a Design Resident Engineer for our Client's Instrument Cluster assemblies, located in Warren, MI. This position requires a strong technical background with automotive system expertise. Significant customer interface is required. The ideal candidate will be creative, self-motivated, able to work independently and effectively with multiple disciplines at both the customer as well as with the Client's development team.
Typical Duties:
• Lead multi-functional global team internal and customer meeting
• Have a good understanding of the product's technical functionality
• Have the understanding, ability, and tools to monitor the messaging received and sent from the module on the vehicle serial data buses, take traces, and root cause any problems / non-conformance that may exist in these areas.
• Have the understanding, ability, and tools to flash the module with new Software, Calibrations, Utility file, etc.
• Have a basic electrical background to help support in problem solving of issues during product development.
• Follow up on execution according to plan, including supplier activities.
• Will monitor and follow up on changes to project and integration plan.
• Responsible for releasing and maintaining parts and drawings with Work Orders
• Responsible for releasing and maintaining software components of the product
• Responsible for planning and overseeing deliveries of supplier parts
YEARS EXPERIENCE: 5 + years related experience
DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED: BSEE minimum;
DESIRED COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE:
• Good communication skills
• Familiarity with problem solving methods such as KT, Fishbone, Fault tree, 5 Why;
• Working knowledge of MOST/CAN/LIN bus and tools/diagnostics
• Ability to understand on high level hardware, mechanical and software design details
• High Level system level analysis
