WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
This position designs and develops enterprise applications using Oracle PL/SQL and database objects (e.g., tables, triggers, packages, stored procedures and functions). This position also writes technical specifications, develops, supports quality assurance tasks and assists with production support. To be successful in this position you must be able to understand business logic and business rules. You must also be familiar with enterprise applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Design, implement, and maintain application database architecture using Oracle.
- A small amount of MS SQL work may also be needed, periodically.
- Develop Packages, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and other PL/SQL and T-SQL programs.
- Optimize Queries, Stored Procedures, ETL process, and databases performance.
- Gather and analyze business requirements for Application Development, Data warehouse and Business Intelligence Projects.
- Develop ER models and Database Schemas such as Star and Snowflake Schemas.
- Provide quality oversight for all activities related to data cleansing, data quality and data consolidation using standard data modeling methodologies and processes.
- Develop batch processes and Scheduled Jobs to support Data Integration Projects.
- Write user documentation for database systems created and/or maintained by the department.
- Develop and maintain knowledge and up-to-date expertise in evolving technologies.
- Coordinate DB-related efforts with Corporate IT
- Attend/Lead team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed.
- Participate in requirements review and technical design activities
- Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree in related area or a combination of education and progressively responsible work experience in related area
- Minimum of five (5) years’ Oracle, MS SQL, Data warehouse design and development experience required demonstrating:
- Experience in designing and developing high volume transaction based systems
- Experience in SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL*Loader, Data Pump, Exp/Imp, TKPROF, Oracle scheduler, Advanced Queues, Object management, SSIS, SSAS, PL/SQL development, stored procedures, and triggers
- Proficient in Toad, Erwin, Visio, and Version Control tools
- Experience using bulk processing, ETL operations, REF cursors, collections, DBMS packages
- Experience in analyzing query plans and query tuning, partitioning, and optimizer hints
- Experience in Data warehouse and Business Intelligence Implementation preferred
