Description
The Infrastructure Lead is a strategic, multi-faceted, and dynamic hands-on technical engineer with the ability to resolve complex issues. You will serve as an escalation point for other engineers and are able to provide exemplary service in a fast paced environment. This role is designed to have all the hands on influence a manager will have without having to do all the paperwork.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal Infrastructure Lead candidate must be able to prioritize and work on multiple issues concurrently and deliver measurable results in a high-pressure environment. You will perform problem analysis and systems monitoring, as well as network security management, performance analysis and support. In addition, you must be able to provide regular communication between the client and team, strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
 
You will ensure all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and projects are profitable. You must be able to diagnose and resolve issues relating to IP Telephony configuration and troubleshooting (Shoretel), business Internet connectivity, WAN technologies, remote access and VPN configuration. In addition, you should be able to work with and troubleshoot the Microsoft series of operating systems and server solutions (Exchange, SQL, Terminal Services (RDS), IIS, AD).
 
An overall understanding of quality client service, experience working in a diverse team environment, strong business acumen and the instinct to think and act strategically are essential for success within our organization.
 
Qualifications
  • Self-starter with the ability to find his/her own solutions to problems and understand the interdependencies between applications/systems
  • Extensive experience with routing concepts, network and port address translation, and firewall rules
  • Working knowledge of backup and disaster recovery methodology
  • Ability to listen carefully and extract key intricacies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analysis and judgment skills
  • Works well in diverse team environments
Education
  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field OR a Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical support with strong technical problem diagnosis skills required
  • Industry Certifications, such as ITIL, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and/or VMware Certified Professional (VCP5) are desired
Technology Experience
  • In depth knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop Operating System best practices relating to deployment, configuration, and administration
  • IP Telephony configuration and troubleshooting experience (ShoreTel)
  • Windows Server technologies (Exchange, Terminal Services, Active Directory)
  • Virtualization troubleshooting and support (VMware preferred), including SAN experience
  • Advanced Firewall/VPN configuration and troubleshooting (Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet products are a plus)
  • Advanced knowledge of network configuration and troubleshooting including but not limited to DNS, VLAN, IP routing, LAN, WAN, and Site to Site VPN
  • Extensive experience deploying and troubleshooting hardware, applications, and enterprise level systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and configuration
