Program Director- Wound Care Center- State of the art Wound Care Center is looking for an individual who has wound care background and open to a person who has been in the wound care industry either working in the capacity of a program director in wound care for a hospital or wound care center or other similar capacity, including wound care sales or sales management! They are very open to former medical device sales or pharmaceutical sales people who have an understanding of wound care and best if previous sales or sales management or marketing background.  This is a great opportunity for a sales person to transition out of product sales and into general healthcare management of staff and personnel with a routine work schedule reporting to a local wound center and continue to work with a high degree of autonomy.  the Program Director accepts responsibility and accountability for the operation, management and strategic growth of the Wound Care Program.
 
The Program Director works collaboratively with the Physicians, Clinical Coordinator, HBO Technician and wound center staff to provide consistent, quality care for patients with wounds.  He/she is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with referring physicians and hospital personnel who are integral to the operation of the wound program. 
 

 
TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • OPERATIONAL OVERSITE
  1. Provides daily management and oversight of all aspects of the wound program.
  2. Continuously analyzes data and processes to ensure efficient operation and performance of the center.
  3. In conjunction with the Clinical Coordinator, monitors clinic flow to ensure efficient productivity. 
  4. Develops departmental plans, goals and objectives in accordance with hospital and WCA policies and procedures.
  5. Collaborates with the Physicians and Clinical Coordinator to provide appropriate wound service coverage in the center. 
  • REVENUE CYCLE MANAGEMENT
  1. Assists with the development of the wound program’s budget and manages it to maximize program profitability.  Addresses variances appropriately. 
  2. Manages and coordinates all revenue cycle components including scheduling, registration, clinical coverage/treatment, documentation, billing, collections and denials. 
  3. Monitor and analyze financial reports affecting financial performance of wound program and prepare reports for hospital C-Suite.
  4. Coordinate with auditing and clinical team to ensure documentation supports reimbursement.
  5. Stays current with LCD and CMS changes in reimbursement and provide appropriate notice/education to staff and physicians.
  6. Evaluates new products and equipment to ensure center maintains competitive edge in advanced therapies. 
  • RELATIONSHIPS
  1. Integrate effectively into hospital organization.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with hospital administration and departments affecting the wound program.
  3. Meet regularly with hospital leaders regarding performance of program.
  4. Participate in hospital meetings and activities as appropriate to encourage collaboration of the wound center with other departments.
  5. Develop and maintain strategic and effective working relationship with Physicians and wound center staff. 
  • LEADERSHIP (HR)
  1. Recruit, hire, manage, and train wound center personnel in accordance with WCA and hospital’s HR Department. 
  2. Conducts regular meetings with Physicians and Staff.
  3. Provides consistent and timely feedback to manage goals and expectations. 
  4. Prepares and delivers performance evaluations in accordance with WCA and Hospital process.
  5. Participates in hospital committees/meetings as appropriate.
  6. Works collaboratively with the Clinical Coordinator, HBO Tech and Medical Director to ensure accurate and timely patient care and documentation.
  7. Monitors patient and referring physician satisfaction.  Develops strategic solutions to problems that arise.
  8. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
  9. Monitor program operations to ensure patient safety. 
 
  • MARKETING
  1. Utilize Hospital resources to develop a center specific marketing plan. 
  2. Develop and maintain key relationships with referral sources.
  3. Execute marketing plan and document/track activities to  Hospital leadership and manage trends and changes in the market.
  4. Persuade and manage Medical Director and Panel Physicians to participate in marketing activities and be a program advocate. 

Position Location
  • Wound Care Center located out of Valencia
  • Must be within acceptable commuting distantc
Compensation
  • 90K to 95K Compensation
  • Full Time Employee Medical, Dental and 401K benefits
 
 
Required Skills

*Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration or health related field
*Knowledge of Wound Related products and procedures preferred.
*Computer Skills: Basic PC knowledge, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
*Previous Wound Care Sales background or Nurse Department Management.
*Must be administratively sound and managed a clinical department with wound care background or previous high level sales background that has managed people within the industry.

Optional Skills

*Experience in employee management preferred.
*3-5 years Experience in Health Care Management or Sales preferred.
*Marketing experience preferred

$90,000.00   Annually to $95,000.00   Annually
