Summary:  The System Integration Architect is responsible providing architectural designs for solutions that address specific business needs. The architect must assist other architects to map, define and standardize technology, data, and business processes for a sustainable, long-term technology roadmap.  This position requires a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects.
 
The System Integration Architect will be providing architectural direction and technical guidance to our Enterprise Systems (ERP) team. The System Integration Architect will be responsible for designing integrations between backend business systems, leverage a strong understanding of SOA concepts and industry data and process models to architect and design integration solutions for the enterprise and work closely with delivery teams to implement new functionality and maintain the existing services, while ensuring that efforts align with the published roadmap for application integration.
 
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical training, mentoring, and assistance to direct reports
  • Document and communicate technical standards
  • Ensure technical standards and architectural best practices are consistently followed by all team members and 3rd party vendors.
  • Develop Software Engineering diagrams, Application Use-Case diagrams, Enterprise Manageability diagrams and Process/Application Realization diagrams on a per project basis
  • Oversee, coordinate, and approve system architectural designs, ensuring systems will meet functional and non-functional (performance, maintainability, security, scalability, etc.) requirements throughout the lifecycle of the solution (release, deployment and on-going support & maintenance).
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Architectural standards through leading the system architecture design & review process.
  • Participate as a member of the Architecture Governance Board, help to define application principles which will assist in the development of well defined and actionable governance policies
  • Work with the Data Architect to discover and leverage generic application and business models relevant to client’s vertical sector
  • Contribute to the strategy and overall vision for IT applications.  Understand the current state and help define the future state of the organization's IT environment
  • Demonstrate to stakeholders how the Application Architecture addresses their concerns
  • Collaborate with end users and senior management to define business requirements for complex systems development and gain buy-in for all infrastructure plans.
  • Work with project sponsors during the project planning phase to understand the requirements in order to define an architecture design that meets the business and technical needs.
  • Provide complete architecture designs that consider functionality, cost, performance, scalability, reusability, and extensibility.
  • Identify new technologies, industry trends, and best practices, which should be incorporated into Frontier policies & roadmap
  • Conduct research and Proofs of Concept on emerging technologies in support of anticipated development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls and adhere to Company policy and procedures.  Ensure there are no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses, as defined by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Information Technology with 10 or more years related technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in architecting large scale systems
  • Fundamental understanding of ERP and  related concepts
  • Requires strong conceptual thinking and the ability to effectively communicate technical or abstract concepts.
  • Understands the various methodologies to define, analyze and design software solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, and coach others
  • Proven track record of implementing and actively managing application architectures within a greater enterprise context.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills, technical ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
  • Drive to stay current with relevant technology
  • Ability to collaborate and identify/resolve conflicts or barriers
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple concurrent tasks and adapt to changing priorities
