Responsibilities and Performance Expectations
• Establishes a strong knowledge of the market space
• Benchmarks competitive products and identifies best in class solutions
• Uses elicitation tools and techniques when collaborating with stakeholders
• Defines system features, use cases, and additional functionality with stakeholders
• Establishes a detailed understanding of product technology and product behavior
• Performs and promotes analysis of system requirements using modeling techniques, DFMEA, Design of Experiment, and other analysis methods
• Works closely with Safety Engineers to identify requirements and validate safety of the system
• Ensures system meets industry standards including FMVSS, CMVSS, ECE, and ISO26262
• Proposes and negotiates systems level vehicle architecture and system level solutions
• Allocates functionality to sub-systems
• Negotiates trade-offs between performance, cost, and timing objectives with stakeholders
• Leads cross-functional teams and customers to best balanced solutions
• Negotiates requirements with the customer and cross-functional teams
• Consistently balances innovation and reuse when identifying solutions
• Anticipates problems in order to overcome/remove obstacles
• Proactively prevents system level issues and leads cross-functional teams to resolve issues
• Dispositions system level defect reports
• Use problem solving techniques including 8D, 5-Why’s, Ishikawa, and DOE methods
• Provides technical clarification and support to customers, engineers, and leadership
• Leads customer design reviews
• Coaches and mentors others
• Creates strategy for requirements development for the project team
• Creates strategy for test and validation for the project team to ensure effective test coverage
• Regularly adds value through continuous improvement
• Regularly participates in process improvement activities
• Leads and assesses technical quoting activities
• Responds to RFQ inquiries
• To provide support in any capacity to ensure successful project completion as needed
