SQA Analyst
Position Summary:
The SQA Analyst will analyze and review software solutions, create and execute test plans to ensure all objectives are met and that solutions work as expected. The analyst will test solutions in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with existing systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and execute test plans, scenarios, scripts and procedures.
• Develop testing strategies that address areas such as database impact, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error/bug retests, usability, integrated testing, and performance and stress testing.
• Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems or network environments.
• Perform maintenance testing for specified systems
• Serve as the QA Point of Contact on upcoming development projects, as assigned
• Work directly with business users and developers during project planning, testing and deployment providing guidance when needed.
• Investigate system issues referred by technical support.
• Collaborate with developers to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions.
• Participate in deployment efforts including the planning stages and post-deployment verification testing.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent on-the-job experience
• 3-5 years of experience as a Software Tester
• Experience in test planning, functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, performance testing, scale testing, usability testing, troubleshooting, debugging and automating.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills: both verbal and written
• Familiarity with basic SQL queries for back-end, database testing
• The ability to work independently and in small teams, partner effectively with cross functional teams, and manage multiple priorities and deliverables concurrently
• Ability to work and participate in a team setting with an open, collaborative communication style
• Experience with manual software testing required
• Experience with automated software testing a plus
• Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of software solutions
• Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio beneficial
• Familiarity with JIRA a plus
• Background in an Agile development environment a plus
