The Adler School of Professional Psychology, founded in 1952, is the oldest independent school of psychology in North America. The School provides graduate education in psychology and health service delivery with campuses in the heart of downtown Chicago and downtown Vancouver. The Adler School of Professional Psychology is seeking qualified candidates to fill a full time core faculty position for its M. A. Counseling Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling starting August 2014.
Duties include teaching, advising and mentoring students, participation in institutional and departmental committees, admission efforts, advising/ mentoring students, as well as support of department and institutional initiatives. Candidates must be willing to align with the School’s mission and values which is training socially responsible practitioners, engaging communities, and advancing social justice.

Candidates are required to have a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program, experience in teaching, supervision of practicum/internship students, clinical practice; and eligibility for Illinois counselor licensure. Preference will be given to those with expertise in teaching Research & Program Evaluation, Assessment/appraisal, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Couples & Family, and Substance Abuse and experienced in teaching online/blended formats.
This position requires the teaching of evening and weekend classes. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and professional staff.
