|Description||Human Rights First is a non-profit, nonpartisan international human rights organization based in New York and Washington DC. We build respect for human rights and the rule of law to help ensure the dignity to which everyone is entitled and to stem intolerance, tyranny, and violence.

Human Rights First (HRF) welcomes applications for interns in its Law and Security program. Interns will be based in HRF’s New York office and will be expected to commit to 21 hours of work per week for a minimum 10-12 week period. This is an unpaid internship.
The Law and Security program promotes national security policies that respect human rights, focusing primarily on U.S. counterterrorism measures. We are looking for an intern with a strong interest in and commitment to human rights and excellent written and oral communication skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Current undergraduate (preferred) or graduate student at a U.S.-based institution
START DATE: Summer 2013
