Skilled tool and die maker needed for growing Charlotte area manufacturing facility. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity that offers a full benefits package. Qualified candidates will be pre-screened for compatibility before being presented to the hiring managers.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:- Build, maintain, and repair short run stamping dies, fixtures and tools using specifications/blueprints and knowledge
- Assist in the process of designing and planning of plant operations necessary to fabricate tool dies, etc.
- Operate and repair all tool room equipment
- Responsible for the safe keeping and maintenance of tooling, instruments, and equipment
- Assist employees with choosing the proper tools and dies when needed
- Adjust tools/dies accordingly based on first article results
- Acquire first piece inspection, troubleshoot and run procedures and quality standards
Requirements:- Must have ALL of the required skills mentioned in this posting
- Must have a minimum education level of high school diploma, however an Associates or Technical degree is preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must be able to pass a national background check
- Must be willing and able to work overtime if needed including occasional late afternoons or weekends (prior notification will be given)
Compensation:
$18 and up depending on skills and experience
- Required Skills

• Ability to build temporary, short run type tooling including blanks, compounds, draws and form dies from part blueprints
• Ability to work individually when creating tooling
• Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally with management and co-workers.
• Clear understanding of tool design, fixtures, gauges, etc.
• Familiar with various types of fabrication machinery
• Strong ability to perform mathematical computations critical to documenting correct counts for inventory and bill of material processing.
