Description

They supply many of largest pipeline companies in the world with solutions to assist in regulation compliance, operations improvement and risk-based decision making. With double digit growth year over year, our client has captured a client base of more than 50 operators using their solutions and services.
 
  • Leads engineering assessment projects using reliability or quantitative risk based approaches to support clients’ decision-making processes;
  • Leads or participates in risk assessment model development;
  • Takes ownership of issues relating to engineering projects (as part of project team) and in helping to deliver the strategic value of the engineered solution;
  • Participates in the development of customized Integrity Management Programs and practices/standards;
  • Leads and/or participates in client workshops to identify the technical approach to meet client requirements – understand the nature of the data and support systems in place to establish the best risk solution;
  • Apply quality management processes to risk results and solutions;
  • Provide guidance to clients in integrity program scoping, maintenance planning and overall integrity management projects;
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers;
  • Direct project work within work teams;
  • Responsible for report writing and peer review of completed engineering projects;
  • Contribute and identify new features for ongoing database, software and GIS development and participate in its design;
  • Participate in industry committees (ASME, CSA, NACE, API, etc.)
  • Interfacing and working closely with Project Managers, Engineering, and GIS team, Technical Support Group to ensure that engineering specific project needs and objectives are satisfied;
  • Providing verbal and written project reports for external clients;

Qualifications
Education                                         
  • A BSc, or a more advanced degree, in a relevant engineering discipline (an advanced degree is considered an asset);
  • Eligible for registration as a PEng in the Province of Alberta;
  • A demonstrated commitment to continued learning either through a structured education program or on the job learning.
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in any of the following disciplines or industries:
    • Pipeline integrity management, or;
    • Pipelines reliability analysis, or;
    • Risk analysis;
  • Strong working background in pipeline integrity and risk and/or reliability methods;
  • Background in fitness-for-service assessments and fracture mechanics analysis would be a strong asset;
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate and lead client risk related workshops;
  • Strong written communication skills and demonstrated ability to write comprehensive risk reports for external clients;
  • Strong technical skills and interest;
  • Autonomous individual who is able to work successfully to defend and communicate the logic in a solution;
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written with internal and external stakeholders; and,
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects.
