Position Summary

The Digital Product Owner is an innovative and influential champion of Agile methodology, who collaborates closely with business units to ensure that the product development process creates value and provides a strong return on investment for business stakeholders.  The Digital Product Owner leverages subject matter expertise in the product development lifecycle, Agile methodology, and end-user and business unit needs, and continually monitors usage, to help ensure that technology products perform to specification, are delivered on time, and customer needs are met.  The Digital Product Owner possesses strong relationship and communication skills and the ability to coordinate a complex array of resources to drive effective practices and deliver product value. 



Pay Range
$89,734.13 - $116,679.91, DOE.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience operating as a Product Owner or comparable role, preferred. 
  • Experience with a variety of techniques to take ideas and break them down into right-sized batches. 
  • Previous experience leading cross functional teams including scum masters, systems analysts, and product designers 
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including range of methods such as online tools and group presentations. 
  • Record of being a highly motivated self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Have an interest in and some familiarity with Moda’s business and technical architectures. 
  • Understands how to optimize product development for value delivery on a just-in-time basis. 
  • Experience engaging with wide range of partners to assist with decision-making
  • Experience with quantitive land qualitative measurement and performance techniques such as analytics, surveys, and user testing. 
  • Have significant experience as a skilled individual contributor (team member) on successful efforts, in similar business or technical domains. 
  • Health insurance industry experience preferred. 
Education & Training:
  • A college degree in a technological discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Significant training or experience in Agile methods.
  • Have some training in the technology domain (for example, application development) sufficient to review an activity's effort and duration with domain experts.


​​Primary Job Functions:

  1. Lead, inspire and motivate the Agile team to deliver on user needs via technology capabilities with an appropriate sense of urgency. 
  2. Deep understanding of end users through monitoring and measurement. 
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define business requirements 
  4. Ensure user and business requirements are captured in  and associated epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. 
  5. Set priorities to ensure that the delivery of value through quick, iterative delivery. 
  6. Developmaintain, and own a prioritized backlog of user stories through collaboration with Agile team. 
  7. Proactively brings stakeholders and Agile team together to rally around the product roadmap and backlog,
  8. Resolve conflict regarding backlog prioritization and product strategy, including managing escalation through company leadership.  
  9. Optimize the value of work being performed by Agile teams. 
  10. Participate in short-term and long-range grooming sessions with the Agile team. 
  11. Ensure that the Agile team understands items in the product backlog to the required level. 
  12. Understand regulatory, compliance, and other industry constraints on the product and prioritizes accordingly. 
  13. Ensures effective team Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement. 
  14. Apply systems- thinking to prioritize value added work and communicate with team members and stakeholders. 
  15. Apply Agile economics to optimize flow of value delivery Prioritizes based on customer/business value, risk reduction/opportunity enablement and time criticality while also taking into consideration the job size. 
  16. Strong facilitation and collaboration skills. 
  17. Ability to process information from a variety of sources and incorporate them into valuable batches of work for the team to pull. 
  18. Works to align development and business goals and priorities while working with stakeholders and team to remove roadblocks to execution. 
  19. Manage product to OKRs/KPIs and produce regular reporting to stakeholders, including ongoing value of releases 
  20. Works with Product Managers to ensure priorities are aligned with the product roadmaps based on strategy and ongoing input from stakeholders.  
  21. Communicates expected value and any changes in value, to be delivered in each iteration (sprint, monthly, quarterly, etc.), based on the team-determined capacity.  
  22. Contributes to customer-driven design and usability testing and ensures well-positioned products through market and industry analysis. 
  23. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working conditions: 

Requires additional hours above and beyond standard work week including weekend and late nights particularly during product go live implementations.  Must be able to adjust schedule to accommodate product release schedules and peak work periods.

Office environment with extensive close PC and keyboard work, constant sitting, and phone work. Must be able to navigate multiple screens. 

Work in excess of 40 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends, to meet business need.
