Blend360 is looking for a Director of Data Sciences to build and own a business focused on Operations Research and Management Sciences. The person will be responsible for developing and directing our optimization offering by engaging current customers, converting potential customers, and delivering end-to-end solutions. This is a brand new business unit that the candidate has the unique opportunity to shape in their mold. This role will report into the VP of Data Sciences in the Data Sciences Innovations Team.

The candidate should be a Ph.D. or M.S. in Operations Research or related field. They should have 10+ years of practical experience in optimization in business use cases. They should have experience leading a team and delivering results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·        End-to-end solutions management and delivery for multiple clients simultaneously

o   Communicate with clients/stakeholders to align on business goals

o   End-to-end project management of projects/clients

o   Execute with clarity and precision using a customer-centric view

o   Provide clients with technically appropriate solutions

·        Provide technical guidance for the optimization business

o   Translate business problems into mathematical programming models

o   Facilitate solutions and solvers

o   Validate results and execute sensitivity analyses and experiments

o   Document and present results and solutions

o   Deploy models into production environments

 Qualifications, Experience, Skills

·        Strong understanding of Mathematical Programming and optimization. Ph.D. or M.S required.

·        Data science:

o   Basic to expert knowledge mathematical programming

o   Statistical and data-driven methods for predictive modeling or forecasting

o   Supervised and unsupervised learning

·        Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and lead a team; ability to make decisions in the presence of ambiguity; right all the time;

·        Ability to mentor, guide, and grow junior resources.

·        NEEDS TO BE senior leadership facing and comfortable presenting results/insights to the end senior leaders

·        Independent thinker

·        Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

·        Ability to work in a fast-pace work environment

·        Ability to deal with ambiguity

·        7+ years experience

Technical knowledge

·        Python, R, or other statistical language (python preferred)

·        SQL, hive, spark, and other big-data tools

·        PuLP, Gorubi, CPLEX, or other solver API
