We are working on a newly created position with a dairy manufacturer in Wisconsin. This role is will be responsible for streamlining and owning the logistics function. Which will manage the farm milk hauling, inbound & bound freight across all company facilities. This new role requires project management and great interpersonal skills to network effectively across haulers. Please apply if interested! Must have milk hauling experience.

Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for developing a corporate strategy for streamlining logistics and transportation
  • Develop an understanding of all customer requirements & conducting a thorough evaluation of transportation data
  • Develop KPIs/metrics reporting to detail logistics costs & track service performance
  • Develop a logistics network with scheduling process that are scalable & flexible to support changing business priorities
  • Evaluate the current TMS/3PL partnerships from a cost and quality of service perspective
  • Establish an ideal organization structure for managing the company’s logistics needs
  • Manage transportation service providers, sourcing & managing all TMS providers, carriers, and third-party logistics companies
  • Monitor the freight market regularly for opportunities and risks
  • Report trends & providing visibility to the rest of the organization
  • Evaluate the current carrier network & identifying opportunity for cost reductions
  • Manage the day to day service execution and the periodic performance reviews
  • Manage the carrier claims & invoice auditing processes to ensure all actions are completed
  • Provide freight quotes to sales/customer service to support business opportunities
  • Coach and lead centralized transportation planners/schedulers
  • May be required to lead plant-based logistics staff


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, supply chain, business or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of shipping markets across a variety of modes and dairy related
  • Past experience developing & executing freight RFPs with a track record of cost savings
  • Past history implementing/managing core carrier programs, TMS, private fleet, third-party logistics provider partnerships, and optimizing complex logistics network, delivering cost savings & improving efficiencies
  • Must have strong project management skills
  • Must have strong communication skills with ability to influence and work cross functionally
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring & training employees
  • Plan, assign & direct work for logistics employees
  • Must be able to travel up to 35%, mostly day travel
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
