Desktop Support Technician
Summary
Conexess Group is aiding a local client in their search for Desktop Support Technician. As a member of
Desktop Support team you will receive and respond to all support calls prioritizing, resolving and
escalating as needed based on available facts and constraints. You will ensure employees have the company sponsored
tools they need to meet their business deliverables. You will be the face of the IT department and represent the team
with a professional and respectful attitude for all users.
Daily Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the operation and administration of systems required to deploy, support, and manage end-user hardware devices including desktops, laptops, smartphones, and tablets
- Have operations experience in a production environment to support devices on the production floor
- Be able to discern user requirements and resolve, escalate or assign support tickets to the appropriate team member or partner
- Work jointly with vendors and partners to escalate issues and resolve complex problems
- Maintain back office and remote communications solutions including network and telephony and remote access systems
- Be responsible for day to day network administration of client services and workstations including adding users, printers, installing applications
- Install, upgrade, and repair workstations and server hardware and operating systems
- Coordinate warranty repairs, replacements, and returns with manufacturers to resolve operating issues
- Coordinate computer hardware and software purchases, including determining customer requirements and specifications
- Maintain accurate inventory of computer assets throughout the product lifecycle, including procurement, shipping, deployment, decommissioning, and disposal
- Be familiar with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and 3CX systems
- Be familiar with Microsoft server software, including Active Directory sub-systems
- Be responsible for Active Directory maintenance, management and auditing
- Maintain user security permissions including but not limited to network folder access, drive mappings, Office 365, FTP server access
- Manage onboarding and offboarding of all employees, contractors and third-party support members
- Understand information security vulnerabilities and risk management
- Monitor and inventory hardware and licensed software inventory
- Develop and maintain support documentation for the IT environment
- Assist with special projects as needed
