Senior Electrical Engineer- Aerospace

Made In Space is looking for an Electrical Engineer with 5-7 years of experience (3-5 with graduate degree) participating in developing breakthrough manufacturing technologies for space and terrestrial spin-offs.

The Senior Electrical Engineer interprets electrical design requirements, develops supporting electrical system architectures, and brings circuitry to flight readiness overseeing the complete development cycle. By applying standard aerospace principles and practices, the Senior Electrical Engineer creates original circuit designs, schematics, layouts, and interface and harnessing drawings. The Senior Electrical Engineer also mentors junior Electrical Engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the best design solution by applying aerospace appropriate industry knowledge while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements. Act as primary lead and provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting and construction. Provide efficiency reviews and/or value engineering options for existing designs. Prepare detailed design schematics and drawings. Provide design direction and support to all team members. Communicate with clients, consultants, project personnel and inspecting authorities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge and experience with electrical hardware design, assembly, and test required; bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of directly related experience or 3+ years and a relevant graduate degree.
  • Experience with aerospace, defense, medical, or other high reliability industries
  • Experience with schematic capture and layout software required, Altium preferred.
  • Experience developing high fidelity spice models in PSpice or LTSpice a plus.
  • Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid work environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and quality driven.
  • Able to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and a functional level.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Travel Required- An average of 10-15% travel may be required. Most of the travel is local but some overnight travel may be required
