Position Summary:

The Solution Engineer will serve as a Cloud Subject Matter Expert and will be a key member of the customer facing sales team. The SME will be responsible for providing advanced pre/post-sales support for the channel sales team by designing, proposing and closing both existing and new opportunities in the hybrid-cloud and virtualization space and ensuring a successful customer experience.  Additionally, this role will provide support and give advice to COMPANY partners and recommend the best solutions to clients and will assist IT with decision making on new technology rollouts.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Present cloud technologies to decision makers and partners at regional and national COMPANY/partner events.
  • Translate complex business requirements into cloud solutions and ability to clearly articulate the benefits of the solution up to the C-level
  • Create cloud solutions based off current virtualization platforms and through integration of customer premise equipment, Colocation, IaaS and SaaS
  • Create DR/BC and SAN solutions
  • Create solutions that move workloads from the customer premise to the cloud
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners
  • Actively participate as a SME for Cloud technologies, providing consultative support to other Solution Engineers in their area of specialization
  • Knowledge transfer of industry and solutions to COMPANY employees and partners/customers
  • Attend key partner events and training sessions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/MIS/Computer Science/Telecom or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience with network and virtualization technologies in positions related to sales support or technical solutions support
  • Network industry certifications desired (CCNA/P-DC, MCSE, VCP-DCV, Citrix, etc.)
  • Experience working with VMware, KVM, VDI, and Hyper-V
  • DevOps skills (AWS, Cloud, Azure, JIRA, Jenkins, Python, etc.), preferred
  • Experience working with AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker and CaaS/PaaS highly preferred
  • Experience with automation, provisioning, and configuration tools like Ansible, PowerShell, Puppet is a plus
  • Experience with DR/BC and/or application migrations tools such as Veeam, Zerto, Datto, CommVault
  • Ability to regularly exercise discretion and judgement from unbiased solutions
  • Hands on working knowledge of networking hardware, communications and cloud solutions
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Highly analytical and ability to problem solve
  • Flexibility to handle varying workload and multiple projects while still meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to self-educate themselves on current and upcoming technology and trends
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
