Currently seeking a Junior Legal Secretary for a great opportunity in the Wakefield, RI area. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience as a legal secretary, preferably in Trust and Estates. The position involves heavy client contact, scheduling, preparing and organizing billing and file materials, and managing administrative aspects for a busy assignment.


Responsibilities of the Junior Legal Secretary:

  • Prepare and edit Firm/Client letters, memorandum and standard Trust and Estate documents.

  • Support client needs and recommending approaches that will meet our commitment to the most cost-effective client service.

  • Maintain client and general files (electronic and paper) in an orderly fashion for matters assigned to the attorney or paralegal.

  • Utilize direct time and billing systems to submit attorney/paralegal time to Accounting and preparing client invoices.

  • Screen incoming telephone calls, recording messages or placing appropriate information into the voicemail system.

  • Forward outgoing documents on a timely basis.


Requirements of the Junior Legal Secretary:

  • Knowledge of Trust and Estates law preferred

  • Some legal secretarial experience

  • Word processing skills (@ minimum of 50 wpm)

  • Technical abilities including Word, time and billing and document management systems within network environment required

  • Additional technical skills may be required based upon attorney/paralegal and/or practice group needs

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Individual must be dependable, responsible and possess the ability to work independently and remain diplomatic when dealing with all personnel

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions (typing and filing), as well as keying in large amounts of data into the computer for extended periods of time is essential

  • Punctuality and regular attendance is expected
