Aero/Mechanical Engineer II – Thermal Lead

Made In Space is looking for an Aerospace Mechanical Engineer II- Thermal Lead with 3 -5 years of experience participating in the development of breakthrough manufacturing technologies for space and terrestrial spin-offs. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

An Aerospace Mechanical Engineer II- Thermal Lead must have a passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight. Ability to apply established procedures to perform engineering duties in researching, planning, designing, and developing the mechanical aspects of products for use in the Aerospace. The Mechanical Engineer II- Thermal lead performs extensive analysis to ensure cost, quality, and design requirements are met. The Mechanical Engineer II- Thermal Lead also uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform daily assignments, applying principles of science and mathematics to develop solutions to technical problems.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Physics or MS in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Hands-on internship, lab, or project experience involving aerospace systems and/or advanced manufacturing systems.
  • Experience in designing a control systems from the ground up.
  • Excitement about space and a rapidly growing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with design and construction of aerospace systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Travel Required- An average of 10-15% travel may be required. Most of the travel is local but some overnight travel may be required

EDUCATION:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Physics or MS in Aerospace Engineering.
