We are working on a Plant Manager role with an ingredient company in the natural/organic space for their new state of the art facility located in the Greater Columbus Ohio area. The ideal candidate will have an extrusion background, experience working with cereal products, experience in a similar management level role and an operational/mechanical background with ability to be hands on when required.   Please apply if interested!


Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the daily activities of a manufacturing plant to confirm safe & efficient operations as well as act as a link between operational areas of the business to ensure that departments are collaborating
  • Work with the managing director on budgeting and planning short-term and long-term goals by setting, monitoring & reporting on KPI’s, production efficiencies & financial targets
  • Manage raw material supply chain including sourcing of new ingredients, cost reduction, quality & improvement
  • Help lead efforts to increase production capacity & efficiency and ensure the quality of finished products
  • Oversee the development of projects in conjunction with the customers, sales, and technical requirements by managing development from concept to launch and ensuring customer expectations are met
  • Create a planned preventative maintenance program based on risks by developing procedures to ensure that product safety, legality and quality are not compromised
  • Contribute to internal audit process and carry out audits in relevant departments as well as ensure corrective actions are executed
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality & production procedures, policies, laws and regulations are followed & that all legal and regulatory documents are filed
  • Contribute to quality management system by creating, implementing and maintaining operational procedures
  • Implement Continuous Improvement strategy
  • Manage and approve third party contractors
  • Ensure adequate resources and trainings for effective & efficient running of business
  • Plan, prioritize, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Performs other duties or assignments as directed


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience
  • Needs to have 2+ years of experience in a similar management role
  • Must have 5+ years of operations/production management experience in a food/beverage manufacturing setting; cereal products preferred
  • Needs to have a solid background working in dry extrusions, Food Manufacturing, Quality and Production  
  • Ability to plan, prioritize & organize work while effectively handling multiple projects at one time with track record of successfully completing them is required
  • Must be a positive hands-on people manager who will work effectively with everyone
  • Must have strong decision-making skills & ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment
  • Needs to have strong computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
