Are you interested in making a difference in Central Ohio?  Our client, Furniture Bank of Central Ohio, need a Business Development Specialist who can work collaboratively with our current team to accomplish organizational goals, develop new initiatives and create new markets. A primary program, Downsizing With A Heart (DWAH), needs development. A creative thinker is needed to bring brand awareness, community involvement and develop new growth strategies.

Downsize With A Heart is a program of the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio, a not for profit agency partnering with other governmental, social service, religious agencies, etc. providing furniture to families in need here in central Ohio. The program will focus on growing and generating fee based moving and packing services to clients. All proceeds for these services go directly to the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio.


This effort is facilitated by:


Brainstorm and develop innovative means for generating customers

Relationship building

Community involvement & Seminars

Development of marketing strategies

Utilization of both print and social media


Compensation is a base salary and up to 5% (subject to change as required) of the labor only portion of individual leads generated, handed over to, and booked by the Project Manager.


A minimum of 1 year related experience with a broad knowledge of advanced sales & marketing, advertising, or business administration experience is a must.  A four-year degree is preferred.

Who is the right person for this role?

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing, or other related Business or Communications discipline is preferred
  • Strong strategic vision and planning capabilities, as well as strong execution and project management capabilities across a number of marketing platforms
  • Proven track record of effectively interacting at all levels of the organization, from senior-level executives to all other employee groups, with an ability to influence stakeholders and drive change
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Energetic, highly motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Hyper-organized, detail-oriented and able to efficiently handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to build coalitions, collaborate across functions, and work effectively with others
  • Excellent writing and communications skills; understands what it takes to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization and earn respect to achieve intended results
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to conceptualize, structure, write, and present compelling stories for a wide range of audiences;
  • Creative, out of the box thinker who possesses an entrepreneurial spirit; gets excited about building and creating
  • Has a sense of urgency, a results orientation, and a demonstrated ability to produce
