Operations Manager

We are working on a Operations Manager role with a premium organic dessert manufacturer in the Greater San Francisco Bay area. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in food processing managing production and ensuring quality. A background with SQF and BRC is highly preferred. Please apply if interested!

 

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for managing the daily activities of a manufacturing plant to confirm safe & efficient operations
  • Work with CEO & CFO on budgeting and planning short-term and long-term goals
  • Administration of human resource functions
  • Help lead efforts to increase production capacity & efficiency and ensure the quality of finished products
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality & production procedures, policies, laws and regulations are followed & that all legal and regulatory documents are filed
  • Organize the daily activities of personnel to effectively manage and ensure the flow of production and quality departments
  • Research and identify ways to improve production efficiency
  • Monitor and evaluate equipment needs and capabilities to maximize efficiency
  • Ensure fulfillment and delivery of orders
  • Drive special quality & food safety projects (i.e: HACCP, GMP, SOP, etc.)
  • Manage Food Quality Certification (SQF2)
  • Work with production and Quality to prepare for external inspections and audits
  • Ensure effective food safety & food quality trainings
  • Plan, prioritize, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Performs other duties or assignments as directed

 

Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience
  • Must have 5+ years of operations management experience in a food/beverage manufacturing setting
  • Needs to have a solid background working in Food Manufacturing, Quality and Production  
  • Must have knowledge of HACCP, SQF & BRC
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is strongly preferred
  • Needs to have passion for the food industry
  • Ability to plan, prioritize & organize work while effectively handling multiple projects at one time with track record of successfully completing them is required
  • Must be a positive hands-on people manager who will work effectively with everyone
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment
  • Must have strong decision-making skills
  • Needs to have strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office & programs (especially Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
