Position Summary: This role actively participates as a senior database developer, contributing to database architecture & designing, development, implementation, review, and supporting critical production issues.

Essential Functions:

 Work effectively with Leads and product owners to define & clarify requirements, assignment priorities, perform detailed analysis, and develop robust & maintainable solutions meeting business requirements

 Analyze, plan, develop, deploy, and manage BI infrastructure.

 Create automation SQL tests for unit, integration, regression, performance, and build verification

 Understand and apply the advance principles of entity relationship model design, good data typing practices, index management, data management, and data security.

 Develop ad-hoc queries and reports on demand with short turnaround times as determined by business priorities.

 Research and prototype new database features, design, and architecture ahead of mainstream development.

 Proactively initiate & contribute in system improvements and innovations.

 Provide support to troubleshoot and resolve technical & performance issues in production environment.

 Review the database designs, code, and test plans of other developers and provide recommendations for improvement or optimizations

 Perform basic database administration activities for lower and production (on demand) environments including; Job monitoring, release deployment, basic configuration, process monitoring, and database backup & restore

 Follow defined software development lifecycle best practices.

 Work effectively with management and members to clarify needs and priorities.

 Miscellaneous duties as assigned.



 Master/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) majors, or related experience

 8+ years of database development experience including Data warehouse design & development, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.

 8+ years of experience in developing database in MS SQL Server utilizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, queries etc. (or alternately 5+ years with an equivalent product such as DB2, Oracle, or MySQL).

 Knowledge of SQL Server 2008-2017 including all latest features introduced in SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, & 2017

 Strong technical and communication skills.

 Ability to think analytically, plan for future growth of systems/tools, troubleshoot and solve database issues.

 Desire and ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision in a results-oriented, fast-paced dynamic environment.

 Expert level knowledge of TSQL, performance tuning, Query Plans, and Query Plan optimization for TSQL.

 Expert level knowledge of developing complex Data Warehouses

 Experience of developing SSIS, SSAS, SSRS solutions and MDX & DAX queries.  Experience working in small teams with a good mix of autonomy and accountability.

 Experience of managing and developing SQL Server, BI Suite, database custom tools using SQL Server Data Tools/Visual Studio 2013-2015 IDE’s.

 Strategic and in-depth technical understanding and development experience of BI/DW architectures.

 5+ years’ experience in TFS.

 Preferred: o SQL Server 2012/2014 certified.

o Database architecture and designing experience.

o Travel industry experience; or Ecommerce experience with CRM or online sales.

o PowerShell scripting knowledge.

o Advance level knowledge in SQL automation unit test creation.

o Experience with B2B data integrations work, including a variety of integration modes (file transfer, web services, SSIS, etc.).

o Experience/Knowledge integrating new technologies (e.g., Hadoop) with traditional RDBMS

o Experience/Knowledge in Hadoop ecosystem: Spark, Kafka, Hive, HiveQL, Map Reduce, Yarn, HDFS, etc...
