We are working with a growing food manufacturer in New England that is looking for an energetic team leader to head up their Engineering department.  This position will put infrastructure and rigor in place while being responsible for executing expansion and small projects. This role is for someone who is looking for a hybrid leadership role that is hands on.  Please apply if interested!

Job Duties:

  • Direct the engineering department in a long-term expansion project
  • Manage the facility’s annual & capital budget
  • Directs the engineering department activities to modify & test existing designs & improve production techniques
  • Creates standards & policies for installation, commissioning, & starting up – that comply with principles & safety regulations
  • Ensures newly installed equipment meets contract specifications
  • Coordinates with Operations team on requests for new products, new packaging, and ensure preparedness & feasibility
  • Ensures compliance w/all company & FDA Quality requirements & company SOP’s
  • Maintains GMP’s at the highest level in all areas
  • Ensures engineering drawings and permits comply with company standards
  • Ensures that expansion plans follow the facility’s master plan
  • Tracks the execution of projects to ensure that expectations are met in terms of cost and schedule
  • Work to continuously improve the department, promote employee growth in coordination of strategic visions
  • Be a hands-on single contributor AND a manger
  • Oversee the implementation of quality standards that reduce production waste
  • Support & implement environmental programs the organization has instilled that conserve energy and power usage

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. A solid background in food manufacturing is mandatory – packaging and process
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Past experience leading an around the clock manufacturing operation
  • Been in previous management roles – managing an engineering team
  • Past experience managing/planning long & short-term capital projects & budgets
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Experience managing contractors and vendors that pertain to department
  • Working knowledge of PLC’s
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Promote a growth/mentor culture
  • Able to motivate and drive a strong team environment
  • Ability to adapt in a fast paced ever changing environment
  • Enthusiastic about working in a state-of-the-art facility in a growing industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to move 20 lbs.
