The proposal writer supports the Growth Team. The selected candidate will be responsible for gathering and formatting information, writing drafts on-time, and obtaining approvals for proposal content.
Responsible for writing Federal IT proposals by using clear and direct language and strong organizational skills to produce winning proposals
Develops storyboards, outlines, and documentation to arrange the proposal solution elements clearly
Conducts interviews with key personnel, subcontractors, program managers, and subject matter experts to prepare resumes, past performance, management, and technical content for proposals
Analyzes government Request for Proposal (RFP) documents to understand the customer’s business drivers, problems, and instructions for the proposal response
Develops annotated proposal outlines to align with RFP/RFQ/RFI requirements and address the customer’s issues and needs
Writes original compelling and compliant content in response to RFP questions, highlighting unique benefits that meet customer goals and objectives
Coordinates and manages receipt of proposal content from all content contributors
Edits content from other contributors to ensure consistent and active voice; compelling and compliant messaging; spelling/typographical/grammatical errors; and inclusion of appropriate win themes, benefits, and discriminators
Conducts regular meetings with content contributors through bid completion
Reviews proposal content to ensure requirements are adequately addressed and that customer page limits are not exceeded
Participates as a contributor in proposal review and recovery sessions, solution meetings, and other collaborative events to improve proposal quality
Coordinates with graphics team to verify alignment of graphics with our written response
Consolidates all proposal responses, and provides final editing and proofing
Supports final proposal production and printing
Supports and contributes to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to enhance the efficiency and quality of the writing/editing team and overall proposal group
Excellent writing, analytical, independent research, and communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and Adobe Acrobat
Proficiency with collaboration tools such as SharePoint, GoToMeeting, OneDrive and similar tools to effectively communicate with team members in geographically disparate locations
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, is required
Experience with technical writing is preferred
Health IT Experience is preferred
