We are working on a newly created Plant Controller position with a dairy manufacturer located within the greater Greensboro, NC area. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and has 10+ years of accounting experience including previous supervisory/management experience in a food manufacturing setting. Please apply if interested!   


Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for creating a strong management/cost accounting function for the company
  • Focus on accounting & financial planning and analysis
  • Participates with the leadership team to create plant visions and goals
  • Strive to continuously improve policies and procedures & implement additional financial planning and analysis
  • Support analytical needs of Corporate finance
  • Responsible for finance staff members for: cost, accounts payable, accounts receivable, indirect purchasing, payroll & financial analysis
  • Manage the efficient completion of month end financial close process  
  • Prepare all post-closing financial analysis, performance reports & commentary
  • Partner with site management to increase plant efficiency and profitability
  • Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses/solutions for site issues
  • Perform ad hoc analysis
  • Prioritizes capital spending according to budget limitations; approves capital requests
  • Performs other duties or assignments as directed


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required, Graduate Degree in Business or Finance is preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive cost accounting & analysis experience with a major manufacturing company is required
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting management/financial management role
  • Needs to have a solid background working in food manufacturing
  • A strong background in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Planning and Analysis are required
  • Must have ability to manage complex projects across business groups and functions
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical & organizational skills are required
  • Experience with JSOX or Sarbanes-Oxley is strongly preferred
  • Needs to have strong leadership skills with proven ability to develop and motivate team members
  • Proficient using a PC and Microsoft Office programs are required
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
