We are seeking an Accounting Clerk with strong experience in Cash Applications and Payroll to support our Vancouver, Washington facility. The Cash Applications and Payroll Assistant is responsible to assist Lead Cashier in posting incoming payments to the correct patient accounts on a daily basis. Inputs and retrieves data from computer systems. Applies payments to patient accounts accurately and efficiently. Assist to reconcile corporate bank accounts daily. Assist with bi-weekly and off-cycle Payroll Processing and performs other duties as instructed

CASH APPLICATION Assist with processing Client check (cash) deposits and posting receipts. 

  • Record and reconcile Lockbox payments and settle credit card batches daily 
  • Record checks received by mail, sort, scans deposit and posts as a daily routine. 
  • Record EFT/ACH cash receipts from daily online bank reporting. 
  • Monitor facility aging; research and correct facility billing and payment discrepancies 
  • Research and maintain the third party aging through Net-Rx monthly. 
  • Research and process insurance payment exceptions reported on the Net-Rx 
  • Research fee adjustments and record approved cash adjustments 
  • Performs daily bank reconciliation; research and records electronic bank transactions

PAYROLL PROCESSING: backup support and assistant 

  • Follow established guidelines, policies, and procedures in performing all areas of Bi-weekly payroll processing and balancing for multiple departments 
  • Assist to gather, arrange, and input payroll data correctly and timely
  • Ensure reports are balanced and records are properly maintained 
  • Assist to calculate, maintain and process payroll for hourly and salaried employees every two weeks 
  • Examine payroll register and reports to detect possible errors for correction 
  • Ensure accurate records of payroll by carrying out regular system updates in areas like status changes, benefits deductions, time off accruals, and tax withholdings 
  • Process garnishments, child support orders, any other involuntary deductions for appropriate deduction and payment 
  • Provide agencies of state and federal governments needed payroll and billing information.

Other Duties: 

  • Provides administrative support to accounts payable as is required 
  • Supports Paperless OCR and eImage processing – scans and distributes AP documents 
  • Provides other accounting assistance as instructed

Required Skills
• Completed high school and obtains a diploma or its equivalent, however, possession of Associate Degree in Accounting is preferable
• Two to three years’ experience working with Payroll processing or other relevant experience
• Strong ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time, prioritize assignments, and ensure details are followed in executing tasks
• Possess two to three years bookkeeping experience with strong knowledge of general principles of accounting, its processes and procedures
• Ability to keep information with the highest level of confidentiality and apply utmost discretion
• Ability to operate and utilize adding machines, personal computers and printers
• Possess working knowledge of Integrated Financial Operating and Payroll Processing systems,. Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel applications. Paycom and Sage 300 experience is not required but would be a plus.
• Possess outstanding problem solving skills; written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to work independently without much supervision.
