JOB SUMMARY

Is responsible for managing the technical and financial aspects of assigned projects. The Project Engineer coordinates drilling, sample/data collection, subcontractor tasks, evaluates data and compiles written reports for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies. The person needs to be reliable (responsibilities, tardiness, etc.) and have a good work ethic. They need to be able to cooperate with co-workers and clients and they also should be able to listen, understand and follow instructions. They must show respect for company property. Direct Contact with Clients, Prepare Proposals and Scopes of Work, Manage project field and laboratory activities, perform engineering analyses and prepare geotechnical reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Manages engineering projects, coordinates internally and with client, and writes reports.

Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.

Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents/analyses.

Coordinates and cooperates with lab and field departments.

Prepares cost estimates, proposals and invoices.

Meets project budgets and schedules.

Follows safety procedures.

Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Driver’s License

Ability to earn E.I. (Engineering Intern)

Ability to obtain P.E. (Professional Engineer) license

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering from four-year college or university; one to two years related experience managing geotechnical projects.
