  • Local pharmacy group needs an experienced and registered Pharmacy Tech who is proficient with "QS1; Prime Care" software. This is a Part Time position and will eventually become Full Time as the office grows. At this time, the position is 2-3 days per week with hours tentatively from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. 

    Primarily responsible for entering orders into the computer from verbal, scanned and electronic sources accurately and within the unique set of requirements established for each client.  Also this position requires extensive interaction with patients, care givers, payers and health care professionals.  This is the main point of contact that our customers have with our staff.  Our reputation depends on the ability of this person to be a problem solver.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer phones,  respond to request or route to appropriate person
  • Process all orders in Docutrack according to priority
  • Correct Insurance Rejections
  • Obtain refill authorizations via phone, fax or electronic means
  • Obtain prior approvals and/or formulary order changes
  • Obtain Control Drug authorizations
  • Reconcile Control Drug dispenses with prescriptions to match.
  • Scan packing slips on a daily basis
  • Update all drug and non-drug orders for each facility  
  • Update ALF orders from signed physician order forms as they arrive
  • Keep “Pending” folders updated daily
  • Troubleshoot problems in Docutrack, QS1 and eMar systems
  • Communicate special needs and problems to pharmacists, techs and delivery
  • Follow up on pending transactions to insure timely delivery
  • Routing or copying of documents to other departments as needed
  • Maintain SOP for each facility to insure consistent adherence to their procedures
  • Solve customer service problems, escalate to supervisor when unable
  • Replenishment of depleted inventory from various wholesalers
  • Keep work station clean and organized
  • Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Registered Technician
  • 3 years experience as Pharmacy Technician
  • 1 year minimum in long term care (preferred)
  • Current required educational certification – ie Fraud,Waste & Abuse training
