Career Evolutions is searching for a Database Manager for a profitable agricultural company based in Phoenix-metro, Arizona. It's a Direct-Hire, Full-Time career opportunity with a compensation up to $100,000 + Benefits and Profit Sharing.

As the Database Manager, you will be responsible for supporting system hardware, platform databases, provide direct oversight with external technology partners and vendors. You also analyze and identify opportunities to improve business systems by bridging the needs of the business from both a technical and functional perspective. Oversee the maintenance of existing applications and the development/installation of new applications and/or related IT projects. 

Principal Duties & Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as group-wide expert & support on core systems and tools (currently UNIX, Turnkey, OnBase, Sage, Microsoft, Dell Networking, etc.)
  • Liaise with external partners regarding all IT systems and software matters.
  • Act as technology partner to other leaders in the organization to assist with tracking and reporting goals & outcomes.
  • Assess business cases for new products, services and contracts.
  • Contribute to the planning process and represent Technology in performance and strategy reviews.
  • Build and develop strong relationships and maintain communication channels to divisional, functional management to pro-actively drive fact-based business decisions.
  • Run, validate and improve core systems processes (financial reporting, management reporting, activity reporting, project reporting).
  • Contribute to design, testing and implementation of next-generation systems and process improvements.
  • Ensure data quality and transparency.
  • Travel to key business locations and 3rd party provider’s offices within the Phoenix metropolitan area as appropriate.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Technology, Business, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in a technology environment – hardware and software
  • 3+ years Database Administration & Development / Programming experience
  • Understanding of ERP systems
  • UNIX familiarity desired
  • Prior experience with Business Intelligence Analysis & Tools a plus
  • Project / Vendor / 3rd Party management experience
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent business acumen
  • Good team player attitude and ease in building business relationships with good negotiation and influencing skills
  • Advanced Excel user
  • High level of curiosity and ease in working in a business environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Administrator experience in some of the above programs is a plus
  • Prior ERP implementation experience
  • Experience in agriculture industry is a plus
