Description

The CULTURAL RESOURCES PROGRAM SUPPORT sought requires professional
cultural resource expertise, with graduate level qualifications in one or more of the following;
anthropology, historic preservation, archaeology, or preservation planning. Previous experience
with DoD cultural resources is optimum, but at a minimum, experience in the variety of historic
preservation public laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and technologies affecting DoD
activities and operations is required. Examples of such knowledge and experience include:

  • Knowledge of cultural resource management and historic preservation laws and policies, including the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.
  • Established methods and techniques of applied archaeological research and practices.
  • Collections management and research.
  • Cultural resources management planning.
  • Historic preservation policies, principles, and application technologies.

Provide comprehensive support to the DoD NR and CR Programs through studies and analyses; technical and policy recommendations; briefings, presentations, decision
memoranda and general correspondence; and meeting representation and presentations. The Support must research, evaluate and present information and analyses (including consequencesof adoption and/or implementation) regarding divergent opinions, proposed laws and policies, and topical and emerging issues potentially affecting DoD’s NR and CR Program and their support of DoD’s test and training activities and requirements.
