We are working with innovative food manufacturer in the Coachella Valley that is looking for an excellent hands-on leader. This role will oversee operations in a cutting-edge manufacturing facility. The Plant Manager will be responsible for production planning, optimizing manufacturing costs, quality, and working cross functionally to promote an environment of continuous improvement.  


Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):


  • Responsible for production planning
  • Mange the following areas: sanitation, production, shipping & warehouse, maintenance
  • Develop, implement and drive SOP’s
  • Mange and track financial performance metrics
  • Track order fulfillment & inventory control
  • Meet customer quality & delivery expectations
  • Maximize production yield, optimize labor scheduling
  • Responsible for overhead spending and keeping within budget
  • Ensures compliance to food safety management systems and safety initiatives
  • Works to collaborate on a capital spending plan to maintain equipment & keep production at a capacity within sales demand.
  • Direct the installation, testing & maintenance of equipment
  • Work cross functionally with finance, QA, HR, operations and Sales
  • Build positive repour with community, & regulatory agencies
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process
  • Manage personnel decisions
  • Foster an environment of CI
  • Demonstrate integrity and a sense of ethics


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 12+ years of management experience in a food production environment
  • Strong sense of the dairy industry - cultured dairy experience is preferred
  • 5+ years of dairy manufacturing experience in a management role
  • Familiar with dairy manufacturing equipment
  • Proven history of planning, scheduling and project management experience in a food manufacturing environment is necessary
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize plant operations and conflicting demands
  • Strong knowledge of GMP’s, TQM or statistical process control concepts
  • Proficient in math
  • Strong negotiator
  • Takes the initiative to be a mentor and set positive examples
  • Engaged and hands on leader
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
