Electronics Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with OEM as required to resolve design issues and/or to promote new design concepts.
  • Capture requirements for LED Arrays, LED Electronics from OEM and Lamp PD.
  • Detailed design of electrical schematic in tools based on design library or new circuits as needed.  Work with design team to develop LDMs and arrays.
  • Modeling knowledge for application of LED and binning requirements.
  • Work with MCAD and ECAD to ensure high quality design.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure designs meet specifications as well as OEM requirements for make parts such as Headlamps, Rear Lamps, CHMSLs.
  • Provide single point of contact for all Electrical development of Front & Rear lamp LED electronics.
  • Work with EMS or in-house suppliers for manufacture of Electronics.
  • Work with electronics component engineering and purchasing to create new parts in database for new circuits.
  • Develop DVP&R, FMEA pertaining to electronics.

Education:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering. M.S. in EE or higher preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive electronics design and launch experience Strong
  • Working level knowledge of modeling using PRECISE, SABER electronic simulation tools.
  • Fluent in use of Electronics schematic capture tools such as DxDesigner, PowerView, EDVX System.
  • Design of Power Electronics with Switch Mode Power Supplier (SMPS), DC-DC converters in automotive environment. 
  • Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary group of Optics, Mechanicals and Electronics.
  • Capable of capturing Electrical requirements for lamps based on optics/mechanical requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and handle multiple priorities.
