We are looking for an Engineering Product Designer
Job Responsibilities
- Create and revise robust solid models and detail drawings of complex components and assemblies from design layouts, marked prints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Operate within a product lifecycle management (PLM) environment to specify parts and assemblies, create product structure, and receive/complete tasks.
- Establish component tolerances in accordance with manufacturing capabilities.
- Apply design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) concepts in developing designs.
- Critique designs for safety, manufacturability, failure modes, customer usage and function.
- Perform complex tolerance analysis and validation.
- Participate in design review activities.
- Assist in establishing basic project design objectives and in the selection of design approaches.
- Develop and obtain prototype parts for testing and pre-production activities.
- Engage with new technologies: desktop 3d printing, virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Design Technology and 5+ years of experience using CAD or Associate degree in Drafting/Design Technology and 8+ years of experience using CAD
Preferred Requirements
- Experience using Creo Parametric with workspaces in Windchill.
- Experience using Windchill to specify parts, create product structure, and receive/complete tasks.
- Advanced CAD modeling, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), plastic part design, and DFM/DFA proficiency.
- Ability to manage time and work effectively while being self-motivated.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience using Google’s G Suite products (Gmail, calendar, hangouts, drive, docs, sheets, slides, sites).
