  • Applies knowledge and experience in acquisition program management philosophy, policies and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles.  
  • Acts as the F/B Directorate Unit Control Center Chief for emergency response, exercises, and other surge activities. 
  • Ensures that PEG and Directorate leadership is kept apprised of workload assignments, resolutions and other time sensitive communications/events.  Receives, prepares, submits and maintains Official records of documentation and communications. 
  • Develops and maintains the F/B Directorate Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and shall lead the F/B Directorate participation in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) COOP and execution. 
  • Assists in managing the Fighter/Bomber Directorate Self-Inspection Program (SIP). 
  • Supports the Commander/PEO, Senior Directorate Leaders, and Director’s Action Group using management and reporting processes including the Monthly Acquisition Report (MAR), Defense Acquisition Executive Summary (DAES), Selected Acquisition Reports (SAR), and the Senior Officer Communication and Coordination Electronic Resource (SOCCER).
  • Supports the acquisition program management of full life cycle requirements, subsystems and equipment.
  • Assists with the development, review, and staffing of program documents, such as Memorandum of Agreements/Memorandum of Understandings (MOA/MOU), Statements of Objectives (SOO), Life Cycle Management Plans, etc.
  • Assists in the coordination of documentation between functional resources (to include: financial, management, procurement, engineering, and logistics), higher headquarters (HHQ), Air Staff, and possibly foreign governments; and assists with the consolidation of their inputs into common documents.
  • Assists in planning for the accomplishment of program milestones reviews and related HHQ meetings.
  • Assists in the collection of programmatic inputs from acquisition programs throughout their life cycles. 
  • Applies program knowledge for developing and coordinating responses to taskers in response to internal and external program inquiries.
  • Assists in producing or reviewing products for program office use that may include analyses, trade studies, estimates for program office acquisition and logistics requirements, written requirements documents for planned acquisitions, and acquisition strategies and plans.
  • Supports application of strategic scheduling and planning documentation such as the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Supports the development of contract strategies, work breakdown structures, and the completion of a program risk assessment to document issues impinging on milestone execution.
  • Assists in translating user requirements into contract execution documents such as Requests for Proposal (RFP).
  • Provides assistance with preparing, maintaining, updating, and reviewing the full range of F/B Directorate-related documentation.  Assists in reviewing documentation for adequacy, requirements compliance, conformity with mandatory guidance, and provides recommendations to the Government as necessary for improvement.
  • Supports acquisition events, meetings, and reviews as needed, such as:  Program Management Reviews (PMR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Technical Coordination Meetings (TCM), and others as applicable.  Gathers information, prepares presentations, presents briefings, and provides other support as needed.
  • Assists with the Automated Business Services System (ABSS), the System Management Analysis Reporting Tool (SMART), and Integrated Budget Documentation and Execution System (IDECS).
  • Assists with the execution of various program actions to include implementation of F/B Directorate and acquisition direction, policies, processes, and tools. 
  • Assists in planning, organizing, and managing critical aspects of the development, production, and/or deployment of capabilities (including System of Systems and Families of Systems), systems, subsystems, and equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains effective professional working relationships with co-workers, and customers.
  • Follows policies and procedures as described in corporate manuals and directives.
  • Attends work each day during scheduled work hours unless on approved travel or time off.
  • Performs occasional travel to contractor and customer sites, as required
  • Works flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
  • Carry’s out other duties as may be assigned or requested.
  • Submits monthly status reports and other information as requested
  • Complies with requirements of the contract’s Visitor Group Security Agreement (VGSA). 
  • Prepares CDRL inputs including the Task Order’s Monthly Status Report.
  • Completes required Government training and certifications.
  • Perform occasional travel to contractor and customer sites, as required.


  • Senior labor category has a minimum of 10 years of experience and a Master’s degree or a minimum of 20 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree.  A Senior labor category typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.  A Senior labor category may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
  • Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance at the required level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other standard (Customer specified) applications.
  • Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required.  If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
