We are working on a new role with a food manufacturing company that has recently opened its doors outside of Columbus, Ohio. The VP of Operations will help define, develop, execute & manage operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing capital improvements/strategies, supply & demand planning, and implement policies that make a productive workforce. The VP of Operations should be a strong leader that will build an organized set of objectives. If interested please apply!

 

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

 

  • Develop operations & supply chain strategies, also recommend capital improvements & talent deployment
  • Oversee all greenfield expansion projects in multiple facilities. Oversee capital projects while coordinating with vendors/contractors
  • Ensures the plant is in compliance with company policies, federal, state and local regulations  
  • Establish operations strategies & objectives, best practices, tools & metrics
  • Manage cross functional teams to design & implement strategies based on business plans & objectives, new product roll outs, & new business opportunities based on changing consumer needs
  • Develop short & long-term plans, this includes facilities, materials & talent development to meet industry & business financial requirements
  • Establish lean manufacturing techniques for material usage, shipping & receiving, capacity planning, production scheduling, safety & performance measures.
  • Evaluates cost effectiveness, consistency, quality, accuracy & performance of facilities to company standards and takes corrective action when necessary
  • Provide leadership for supply & demand planning to hit customer service goals and operating cost efficiencies.

 

Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

 

  • 15+ years in manufacturing & supply chain experience in the food industry
  • Track record of proven leadership accomplishments that have advanced operational excellence and Continuous Improvement programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills – ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Extensive cross-functional experience & technical skills in areas like supply chain, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, engineering, and project management
  • Solid leadership & project management skills
  • Creative thinker with ability to drive innovation
  • Ability to strategically lead, inspire, & cultivate talent in others. Successful at mentoring & coaching a team
  • Ability to create forward thinking plans for a 1-3 year and 3-5-year plans
  • Proficient in analytics & problem solving at both the strategic and functional levels – with the ability to take plans/concepts and successfully implement them
  • Experienced and proficient with Microsoft Office and its programs is required
