Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

HOURS: 0700 to 1730 on normal workdays. Adjusted hours may require morning or evening coverage beyond the normal work hours but typically not earlier than 0700 and not later than 1930.

Provide advice and assistance on the implementation and management of the OUSD (P) Security Program.

Support the OUSD (P) Security team in the management and execution of the security program in the protection of classified information and industrial security oversight.

Prepare DD Form 254’s and review DD Form 254’s for prime and sub-contractors.

Review and validate DD Form 254’s and statements of work to ensure compliance and enable contractor personnel to perform duties.

Develop/update security classification guides.

Assist in resolving information classification and markingissues.

Serve as the designated COMSEC Responsible Officer or designee. Manage and assist with the accountability of COMSEC equipment. To include but not limited to: ensure equipment is operational, users are properly trained to operate the equipment, develop and disseminate education, training and awareness materials.

Have knowledge of security guidelines that reference Public Release and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and provide training asnecessary.

Review, assess, and document security incidents/violations and related issues. Provide recommendations to the Government Security Officer for further inquiry, investigation and action.

Review industry Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), provide correspondence for government signature recommending approval or coordination further clarification.

Develop, disseminate and present security education materials for OUSD (P) personnel across all classification levels and accesses. Materials will include: training plans, briefings, slides, refresher training and specialized training.

Manage DIA Foreign Visit System

Develop and administer foreign travel and contact(s) program for OUSD (P) personnel.

Coordinate with external security educators to develop and obtain education materials for dissemination.

Administer security review program, establish review schedule, generate correspondence for government signature, maintain security review files, track status of finding and monitor follow-up reports from sites reviewed.

Coordinate and execute OUSD(P) security support activities which include but are not limited to:

• Personnel processing, researching and validating personnel security clearances and accesses

• Processing visitor and access control requests

• Preparing and tracking security investigation documentation

• Issuing credential documentation,

• Prepare and document access indoctrination and manage various functional security tasks

 

Maintain data within data repositories, generate reports as required by the Government.

Interface with designated government agencies to address and resolve noted personnel security issues.

Provide support in the conduct of security reviews and staff assistance visits at Government and industry locations. Be knowledgeable of and apply regulatory guidance and directives to ensure the location being reviewed is in compliance. Provide input to the Government final report.

Reviewing Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) accounts for security related actions/correspondences and provide input for the office.

Coordinate and compile documents for Chief Operating Officer and OUSD (P) signature.

Primary POC for Joint Staff badging for OUSD (P). Verify & coordinate Joint Staff badging and process component paperwork and issue badges

Special Security Officer to process electronic messages for SCI clearances.

Ensure ASD suite has general security coverage during normal business hours.
