We are working with a growing food company in California in the health and wellness space. Although our client has been a major player in their industry for a while, recently they have experienced a great deal of growth and are looking for a newly created position. The Ingredient Sales Director is responsible for taking a leadership position while generating effective sales strategies.  The Sales Director will target new business opportunities and strengthen current relationships while managing two direct reports.

Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Solid understanding of industry trends & market conditions. Cultivate strategies to build sales.
  • Translate sales strategies into actionable tactics for team & develop standards to measure success
  • Analyze data & devise plans to improve the internal sales team
  • Target new business relationships and work to advance customer relationships
  • Recommend pricing & promotional initiatives to continue profitability 
  • Cross coordinate with other departments to develop support systems
  • Provides oversight to sales team. Focuses on organization’s strategic goals
  • Looks for key areas to cultivate team member development. Provides ongoing training.


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Past experience selling food ingredients (5+ years’ experience)
  • Bachelors Degree in related field. Marketing, etc.
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience in sales
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Great team management and organizational skills
  • Solid time management and multi-tasking skills
