Career Evolutions is searching for a VP Technology for a fast-growing software company in the Phoenix-metro. It’s a full time direct hire position paying up to $180,000 + Bonus.

You will be responsible for the operation of the software development and project management functions. You will provide leadership and technical expertise to multiple development teams in the areas of systems analysis, software and database design, software development, and software release management. You ensure appropriate resources are applied to projects; adhere to time constraints and budget expectations and collaborate with leadership and stakeholders.

You will provide direction to the teams in the design, development, and implementation of new product lines, as well as improvements to existing software solutions. New products will be embedded into current .NET software solutions to provide a seamless interface to the end users and enhance the user experience. In addition, you will also work with other software partners that provide data to products in order to provide customers single source accessibility to information.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate efforts of leadership in long term strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the productivity and quality of the Project Management and Software Development functions. Improve the overall quality of projects and processes, and implement project management and development best practices.
  • Ensure completed assignments meet client deadlines and corporate standards. Ensure contracted deliverables and service level agreements are met.
  • Encourage and administer appropriate professional development opportunities for staff. Coach and mentor staff. Perform individual assessments and conduct periodic performance reviews.
  • Direct the development, implementation and maintenance of project management and software development policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Implement formal project methodologies, portfolio dashboards and project health status toolsets.
  • Analyze business needs and collaborate with stakeholders, leadership and project staff to plan and address project expectations, issues and conflicts.
  • Negotiate and coordinate with clients regarding system evaluations, technical contracts and purchases, system integration and implementation.
  • Support efforts to address audit, compliance, and government reporting requirements.
  • Foster and champion innovative technology solutions to solve complex business problem.
  • Communicate on a consistent and regular basis with the executive team regarding software development status, production issues, and potential new products.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in a software development capacity of web-based solutions
  • 5+ years managing software developers and / or system engineers
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft platform including ASP.NET, C#, Visual Studio, SSRS, and SSIS. Strong skills in SQL; ability to develop efficient SQL queries. Experience in web client presentation technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, etc. Experience working with TFS and SharePoint is desired
  • Experience with all phases of the product life cycle, including as a manager or director of projects and resources
  • Knowledge of, financial systems, educational systems, nutritional programs a plus

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and tight timelines using analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills
