First Century Bank - Risk Officer

First Century Bank is looking for a full time Risk Officer to join its team at any one of the following locations: Gainesville, GA location, Roswell, GA location, or an affiliated Commerce, GA location.  This individual would analyze various data on company and/or relationships to estimate the degree of risk involved in extending credit or establishing a business relationship with firms or individuals by performing the following duties.  Individuals will also responsible for:

  • Analyzes the various risks associated with establishing a relationship with a client or customer and determines which ones are appropriate and estimates the level of associated risk:
  • Credit
  • Transactional
  • Interest Rate
  • Liquidity
  • Price
  • Compliance
  • Foreign Currency Translation Risk
  • Strategic
  • Reputation

     

  • Analyzes quality and content of client or customer’s financial reports.  Determines appropriate form and number of financial statements required to appropriately evaluate financial status of client or customer.
  • Stays current on various regulatory changes and consults with compliance to evaluate the level of regulatory risk associated with a relationship.
  • Evaluates the type of transactions that will be caused to occur if a relationship is established and evaluates metrics and/or monitoring procedures that bank has in place to police the transactional risks.
  • Consults with Treasury, Compliance, Operations and Finance to determine, quantify and mitigate risks involved in establishing and maintaining various client and industry relationships.
  • Contacts or causes to be contacted banks, trade and credit associations, salespeople, and others to obtain information to evaluate risk.
  • Studies economic trends in firm's industry or branch of industry to predict probable success of new client or customer.
  • Visits establishments to determine condition of plant and equipment and compare methods of operation with accepted practices in industry.
  • Evaluates results of investigations, prepares reports of findings, and suggests appropriate risk limitations to management.
  • Maintains or causes to be maintained the database of customer credit histories.
  • Consults with management to assist in corporate planning.

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree; and five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Must be flexible with ability to adapt to change and competing priorities.  Exceptional written and verbal communication experience is required.  First Century Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer of women, minorities, protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
