We are working with a successful and growing specialty food manufacturer and they are looking for Sanitation Manager.  

Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Directs the sanitation department in activities that ensure plant operations meet mandatory requirements
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work while addressing performance/issues and employee complaints. Resolves problems
  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies, OSHA, and applicable laws
  • Implements & maintains plant sanitation programs & ensures compliance with company standards
  • Audits sanitation and CIP processes to ensure compliance with SSOPs
  • Coordinates with production & other Management to plan and schedule staff to meet sanitation schedules
  • Collaborates with QA staff to troubleshoot & analyze potential or existing issues
  • Recommends continuous improvements methods throughout the plant
  • Manages external vendor relationships, such as the plant chemical supplier
  • Works with Sanitation Supervisor in scheduling daily activities that ensures effective selection, retention, feedback, discipline and performance management. If collective bargaining agreement proceed may participate grievances
  • Trains and instructs employees on sanitation standards, GMPs, SOPs, and objectives.
  • Engages in management responsibilities of planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Must have 5+ years of food plant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years prior management/leadership experience is required 
  • Must have a strong working knowledge and experience with COP and CIP systems
  • Knowledge of HACCP/ Regulatory Agencies (BRC, State, FDA, GFSI, etc.) is required
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation operations. Maintains a current knowledge of techniques.
  • Must be able to evaluate chemical companies like EcoLab
  • Needs to have a background with chemical, sanitizer knowledge
  • Ability to adjust and thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Anticipatory in designated areas of responsibility
  • Must pay close attention to detail and strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Must have good computer skills and proficient with Microsoft office and programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
