Melinta Therapeutics is the largest pure play antibiotics company in the US with a potential $1B in commercial and late stage development products, plus a robust early development pipeline. Our mission is to meet the continually evolving threat of bacterial infections by discovering, developing, and commercializing a continual stream of novel antibiotics.
Melinta recently grew significantly through acquisition and intends to grow both via M&A and organically. As a result the firm is investing in its HR function so as to ensure the employee experience is world class. To ensure the success of this transformation, HR leaders have determined a need for a contractor to join the team for an initial six (6) month period to help maintain existing systems and conduct other via operational and administrative tasks as assigned.

In this contract role you will be responsible for;

  • Accurately entering employee information, conducting updates and running standard reports within the ADP Workforce Now system.
  • Maintaining data integrity and updating compensation data as necessary in payroll system (ADP).
  • Ensuring new hires are signed up for their benefits etc.
  • Monitoring the HR email box and providing first level response to employees or job seekers in line with Melinta protocol, or forwarding more complex queries to the appropriate HR professional.
  • Being the point of contact for new hires at the New Jersey location for I-9 and E-Verify purposes, while coordinating I-9 review for all other locations and then confirming accuracy of documentation provided in compliance with the law.
  • Providing ad-hoc support for other HR colleagues or covering during absences.
  • You will need to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing (email) with employees including executives and external candidates or partners and be able to maintain a professional demeanor even if the person reaching out is stressed or upset for some reason. Every member of the HR team is a front-line resource.

To satisfy the core requirements for this role you must have an established background working within a mid-size HR function, including existing experience with I-9 verification and on-boarding of new hires. You must have strong experience with ADP Workforce Now, including prior work extracting data for reporting purposes as well as accurately entering employee information across different platform modules.

Melinta’s HR team is still a small agile group and as such it is essential that you enjoy working in an environment that moves fast and where priorities shift, On many occasions, you initial tasks might be reprioritized owing to pressing demands and you must be comfortable adjusting, while not losing sight of the now secondary tasks that still require your attention.
