We are working with a national dairy company that is looking for a Maintenance Manager. This role will coordinate the mechanical and electrical needs to support the facility and project work. While also Supervise Maintenance employees with emphasis on continued development to enhance skill sets and ensure maintenance department objectives are met.

 

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

 

  • Provides leadership & direction for activities of Maintenance Techs
  • Collaboratively drive improvements through daily interaction with employees on the production floor
  • Evaluates/inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that company & safety standards are maintained
  • Shows a sense of urgency and conveys that sense of urgency to the Maintenance Technicians in an effective manner
  • Organize & prioritize work orders, estimate work hour requirements and delegate maintenance responsibilities
  • Plan & direct the efforts of the Maintenance Department to maintain plant equipment and facilities
  • Recommend & plan equipment needs to improve production efficiency while achieving cost reduction
  • Actively lead & participate in CI initiatives
  • Oversee the development & scheduling of the plant preventative maintenance program to maintain production equipment and ensure that equipment is ready to run when scheduled
  • Coordinates with vendors to request materials & supplies for the dept.
  • Ensure that all equipment & facility installations/modifications meet or exceed all regulatory agency standards and comply with company policies
  • Ensures that production equipment is capable of producing within the specifications established by the equipment manufacturer
  • Consult with other engineering disciplines and Production regarding modifications of equipment and facilities
  • Monitor & report maintenance key indicators to upper management and make recommendations for changes to drive improvement
  • Keep & update equipment and facility records and procedures such as equipment manuals, schematic & facility drawings
  • Develop and maintain an effective department through selection, training and assignment of personnel
  • Develop objectives & standards of performance for projects within the Maintenance Department required to meet company goals
  • Maintain departmental budget and ensure all work completed within budget & time constraints
  • Coordinate cross functionally with other departments regarding ongoing problems, the implementation of new procedures and processes
  • Ensure proper inventory control of parts & supplies
  • Adhere to all safety and food safety/quality policies and procedures and report any issues

 

Minimum Job Requirements (including but not limited to):

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar field
  • 7+ years’ experience in an industrial maintenance capacity
  • 3+ years’ experience of direct supervision and management in a maintenance and/or production environment
  • Better Process Control School knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of PLC & HMI programming
  • Knowledge of Boiler Operation & Steam Generation, Waste Water Treatment, and Sanitary Welding
  • Experience with SAP or similar operating system preferred
