Biz2Credit is looking for a smart, high energy individual with strong accounting skills. The Senior Financial Controller will play a critical role in managing accounting for our lending subsidiary including reporting around loans and other financial instruments to investors. This individual will have significant growth potential in responsibilities as the company grows. The role will report to the President.

Responsibilities:

  • Take a leadership role to ensure a smooth-functioning financial reporting process
  • Assess the treatment and accounting of loans and related revenue recognition Develop and implement accounting, reporting and operating policies to maintain compliance with US GAAP
  • Research and interpret accounting guidance and draft accounting memos to support conclusions Lead the closing process and preparation of monthly reporting package
  • Prepare consolidations of an international subsidiary, inter-company eliminations, foreign currency translations, analytical reviews, account reconciliations, KPI's, etc.
  • Maintain GAAP compliance Implement required controls, recommend and implement process improvements where needed
  • Analyze results and present variance vs. plan and vs. prior periods and lead special projects and ad-hoc analysis
  • Manage and develop a small team of accountants; interface with overseas accounting staff

Requirements :

  • 10-15 years experience in a similar role preferably in a high growth, hands-on environment
  • Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA a plus
  • Experience with a bank or merchant cash advance company would be a plus
  • Loan accounting experience would be helpful but not necessary
  • Experience with consolidation of multiple business units, with international operations and currency impacts
  • Strong knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standard Board (FASB) guidance Ability to shape business processes, to drive projects to completion and get things done
  • Ability to lead ad-hoc team to solve problems and complete tasks in agreed upon time frames
  • Understanding and application of controls Advanced Excel and modeling skills Strong detail orientation a must
  • Good communications skill
