Plant Engineering Manager

This role is responsible for the engineering and maintenance of the plant facilities. The Plant Engineering Manager will develop plans to support plant requirements, develop Preventive Maintenance, spare parts inventories, and work order systems. This position is with a growing food/beverage company in Missouri.


Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):


  • Retain staff through selection, training & delegate tasks
  • Implement development plans & training for supervisors/staff
  • Manage & establish department budget to ensure financial goals are met
  • Manage capital & expense projects to meet scope, timeline & budget
  • Develop, implement & maintain maintenance related systems to support continuous manufacturing requirements
  • Ensure department activities remain or exceed the standards & specifications established by QA
  • Coordinates w/onsite staff & Capital Committee to review & approve plans for new equipment installation & layout to ensure operational efficiency
  • Engages with affected personnel; consistently assisting them with their concerns & questions
  • Drives key performance indicators and participate in making corrective action recommendations & manage implementation
  • Initiates & drives continuous improvement activities to ensure plant sustainability
  • Manage employee performance by establishing expectations. Holds people accountable
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding ongoing problems, procedures, & new products
  • Ensures effective communication at all levels to ensure that key stakeholders are informed
  • Confirms that all equipment, process or product changes are understood by affected employees
  • Implement problem & motivation methods. Along with long range planning, and Employee & Labor Relations
  • Must be available 24/7


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is highly preferred. But a BS Degree with a technical focus is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing people &/or processes in a manufacturing atmosphere
  • Strong presentation skills; able to communicate with individuals on all levels
  • Proven past experience managing projects & and a maintenance team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite & CAD Programs
  • Practical & working knowledge of food manufacturing plants and machinery required
  • Must be strong in PLC’s
  • Required: someone who can drive modernization in the plant
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
